Surface active additives are used in the manufacture of most of polyurethane foams and carry out three roles. First they help in mixing incompatible components ( emulsification) , Second nucleation and Thirdlythey have critical role in stabilizing the early stages of reacting foam structure until sufficient polymerization has occurred to form a self supporting polymer network.
As Silicone polyethers have such low surface tension, they can potentially lower the surface tension of the foam by 10 mN/m! This makes them ideal surfactants for use not only in polyurethane foam but also in other applications where the creation of stable foams is desired.
Silicone surfactants help stabilize foams two ways: by thinning the cell walls and by promoting the creation of large numbers of small vs. large bubbles Recaz has developed very high quality silicone for all the major applications in Polyurethane industry which can broadly classified as below:

All commercially manufactured Flexible and rigid Polyurethane foams are made with aid of at least one catalyst. Of the many classes of compounds investigated , the amine, Organometaalics( primary tin compound) and Carboxylic salts have been found most useful for catalyzing reaction of isocyanates with water (blowing) and Polyols ( polymer gelation).

Amine Catalyst
Amine catalyst are generally considered to be predominantly blowing catalyst since they tend to catalyse the isocyanate -water reaction better than the isocyanate -polyol reaction , with Tertiary amine being the most commonly used catalyst. However amine do catalyse both reactions with the relative rates being dependent on specific amine catalyst use.

Organometallic catalyst
Organometallic catalyst are mainly seen as gelation catalyst although they do affect the isocyanate -water blowing reaction. Of the many metals available tin compounds are mostly used. These compounds acts as lewis acids and generally thought to function by interacting with basic sites in the isocyantes and polyol compound
We have all the range of organometallic catalyst to suit requirement and related application.
Potassium and Sodium carboxylic acids salts and quaternary ammonium carboxylic acids salts are used to catalyse the trimerization reaction and thus are used mainly in isocyanurate foams.

In addition to the basic raw materials needed to make polyurethane wide range of additives may be incorporated into foaming system to modify and control both the polyurethane chemical reaction as well as the properties of the final polymer to impart desired properties. The main processing additive we supply are as below:

PU colorants
we are manufacturing high concentrated and low viscous PU colorant with excellent color stability , dispersion and strength

Foam hardenerHardening additives are important where increase in hardness of foam is required without use of high cost Polymer polyols. Our special foam hardener improves the stability and hardness of Flexible PU foam by increasing crosslinking resulting in significant increase in hardness with less impact on other physical properties of foam.

Foam softener It is special additive developed to produce super soft and hyper soft foam.

Flame lamination additive
Its a special additive developed to promote / facilitate adhesion of flexible polyurethane produced with Polyether polyols to substrates such as textiles , pvc etc.

UV stabilizers
Aromatic isocyanate based polyurethane show surface yellowing when exposed to light. Although this effect is aesthetic and does not affect physical propert of foam however for certain application like shoe soles requires consistent color r be maintained and we have developed to make foam more stable against exposure light.

Flame retardants
low density , open celled flexible polyurethane foam have large surface area and high permeability to air and thus will burn given the application of sufficient ignition source and oxygen. Flame retardants are often added to reduce this flamability . The choice of flame retardant for any specific foam will depend on the intended service application and flamability testing standard required as per the regulation. We have developed Flame retardants for all applications and to suit the required standard of flamability.

Ant static agent
Some Flexible foam are used in packaging , clothing and other applications where it is desired to minimize the electrical resistance of the foam so that build up of static electrical charges is minimized.

Cell openers
In some of Polyurethane foam it is required cell openers to be added for getting fully open cell or obtain foam which donot shrink after cooling.

Anti oxidants
Polyether polyols are prone to degrade by thermal oxidative attack and require addition of anti oxidants which also protect slabstock foam from discoloration or scorch.
